Moon Phase Pocket Watches
History
Moonphase Pocket watches have mostly gone out of style. The moon phase complication appeared on pocket watches around the seventeen hundreds. This was when the moon was a very important part of people lives. Back then this technology was very advanced and cutting edge. It took a lot of time a precision to hand craft these watches. In the early 1900s the pocket watch started to fall out favor, and was replaced by the wrist watch. They are still made today, but have largely gone out of style. Today many people collect moon phase pocket watches, because they are interesting remind them rich history that world has to offer.
Styles and Brands
My favorite style of moon phase pocket watches are the ones with calendars on them. They are hard to find, but I am really fascinated by how the movement and the parts of the watch work. Many of the watches have beautiful engraving in color on them. The Moon Phase Charles Hubert Pocket Watch is one of the few moon phase pocket watches still being made today. It does not have classic round look, but it still got some style to it.
Prices
The price of moon phase pocket watch is very reasonable. Most will cost between ten to two hundred dollars. The perpetual calendar watches are at the upper end. The new models cost in fifty dollar range. These are great for the beginner collector, and it's cheap to get into.
